on the design:
This is the first '''pw''' with the traditional "spider" design. It's based on the iconic spiral, except the shirt has L/R symmetry and dye is only applied to one side of the shirt. Like all other shirts dyed in SESH 4 (16 Dec 2023), this peace was soaked in soda ash and then hung to dry completely before dyeing.
on the final product:
Pattern is very sharp and very dark—a product of the dry shirt. When a dry shirt is dyed, the dye does not smear or spread out. This results in black patches that are very dark, have well-defined edges and no color cast around the spot perimeters. However, this means that the different layers of the tied shirt will have different levels of dye saturation. Here, the difference between left and right sides is little, but the back of the shirt is significantly lighter.
