I folded the shirt in half, then drew a (half) heart on the center of the shirt and pleat-folded along the heart line.
dye method:
Dyed damp (the usual). Applied dye to both sides of the tied shirt inside the heart region.
on the design:
Peaces 20 and 21 were made a year before '''peacewhere''' was first hatched. These peaces made up an experiment to test how the dampness of the shirt at the time of dyeing would effect the richness and sharpness of dyed patches. Peace 20 was soaked in soda ash solution then wrung out, while Peace 21 had been previously soaked in soda ash solution and left to completely dry.
on the final product:
Peace 20, the wet shirt in this experiment, has patches that are not nearly as dark as the patches on the dry shirt. Also the patches show some magenta color fringes around the patches. Also the heart tip is much rounder than intended so it kind of has a bean shape to it. Perfect for lovers of that magical fruit.
