tie method:
Inverted the shirt, then folded it in half (left sleeve into right). I made pleat folds at roughly 45° from the midline of the shirt.
dye method:
I marked out a line 45° from the midline of the shirt. I dyed all parts of the shirt above that line, and no dye below that line. Dye on the tied-shirt top matched that on the tied-shirt bottom.
on the design:
I notced that most of the other '''peacewhere''' peaces had relatively small patches of black distributed across the whole shirt. I wanted to try some bolder designs that would be distinctive at a distance. I like the very detailed patterns that tie-dyeing produces, but I wanted to try a design that was quite simple.
on the final product:
Very bold! I'm curious to try other designs that are just one big black patch.
