I marked out three radial sectors around the center of the shirt. In each of these sectors, I marked lines that were parallel to one of the three radial lines. I used these lines to make pleat folds.

dye method:

I dyed both sides of the tied shirt (top and bottom)

on the design:

I wasn't sure how the folds would look where the different regions (with pleats at different angles) met each other.

on the final product:

Wow, pretty cool! Overall the shirt is much darker than I typically make them. Because of the 100% dye coverage on both sides, there aren't any regions that are really white. The lighter regions still have some darkness to them,
