tie method:
I inverted the shirt, folded it in half (left sleeve into right), then marked a curved, tapered triangle with the base at the shoulders and tip near the shirt bottom. I made pleat folds perpendicular to the direction of the triangle.
dye method:
I dyed the regions inside the curved triangles black with the remainder of the shirt left white—with the exception of a smaller region on the shirt bottom-sides.
on the design:
This shirt was inspired by a jacket design I saw somewhere on the internet. I don't recall where, but I believe it was a 3D rendering of a bomber-style jacket. I thought it looked cool, so I tried to replicate it in tie-dye.
on the final product:
Love it. It looks very much how I intended it to look
