Before folding, I made a series of parallel lines that alternated between horizontal and slightly angled.

100% dye coverage on the front.
on the design:
I thought that changing up the angle of the pleats would be interesting. It might be a bit irregular because of the thickness of the garment, especially around the zipper.
on the final product:
The front looks amazing, but the back is almost entirely blank. I think this happened for a few reasons. First, the hoodie material is much thicker than the t-shirt material so we expect less dye to transfer through. And second, when dying hoodies previously, I had turned them inside out (inverted). I didn't do it this time because it led me to over dye because the while the hoodie outside is 100% cotton, the liniing has polyester which doesn't take the dye. So when the hoodie was not inverted, there were essentially two layers of material inbetween the front and back of the hoodie. Next time I will go back to inverting to get a better match between the front and back
